Description:
I have a 1998 Z28 Camaro for sale. Its a time capsule. Almost mint condition. Black with grey leather interior M6. Fully built. Most of the work was done by Speed Inc. up by Chicago. I bought this car and put a ton of parts and work in it and then I became disabled. I can no longer work on it and I have a hard time getting in and out of it. I pretty much need help to get out of it. In is no problem. I've been disabled for 10 years and only drove it 2 years after I bought it. Most of its time has been in storage. My brother has taken it out for me once a month to keep everything in check. No winters. Car has (according to Speed Inc.) 470 RWHP and 400 RWTQ. Car has never seen rain and not a spot of rust. No scratches on outside, just one under the hatch which you cant see when hatch is closed. Outside is a 9.5 and inside is 9.9. Zero cracks in dash. I took really good care of it and spared no expense. It was my baby. Only issues is 1/8 tear in drivers seat from my jean rivet, and run on the hood paint from where previous owner painted it in his garage. Also, the low coolant sensor needs changed. That just popped up 6 months ago. I read its common. AC is all there but I took off the belt because the compressor was leaking fluid and it was being strung into my engine bay. I have the t-top shades, car cover, and original dealer booklet from launch. Please feel free to ask questions.

Guys, I can't bend over. I can't stand longer than than 15 -20 minutes. I'm disabled. I can't detail it properly and fix **** anymore. The car is costing me $200 a month just to store it. I can't justify it anymore.
Since the ac doesn't work and the grass on carpet and water spots on kickboard, I'll drop it to $16,000. Will that cover all your concerns?

Good luck with the sale. If I had a place to put it, I'd buy it. My Zs in the way though.

I think the issue here is that some folks are misled by comments like "time capsule" and "almost mint". These terms are, unfortunately, often overused/misused and have subjective meanings depending on one's experience in the automotive hobby - this creates a disconnect which can lead to misunderstandings like the above.
I agree that this is certainly not a #1 car, but it looks like a very nice car in very good condition and a fair deal for the price. It appears that it could present as a solid #2 car with some proper detailing and a few repairs. There are still some #1 (or potential #1) condition LS1 4th gens left on the market if that's what someone is looking for, but I don't think you'll find them for <$16k in the current market.

Also, for anyone who is as concerned about this as me, you won't have to worry about the roof bubbling with this one - the 01/98 build date puts it well into the "safe" zone.
