Default LS1 help

I picked up a low mileage 5.7 and need help identifying the camshaft. I am new to the LS world and I have tried to search these numbers on the Internet. Allegedly it came from an 01 Vette. Any info or other ways to identify the block would be appreciated. It is stamped 5.7

It's either an LS1 or LS6. They are basically the same engine. The LS6 had a better intake, bigger cam, and a PCV port on the valley cover. If you can post a pic of the casting number on the block, someone here might be able to tell you which one it is. I can't help you on the cam.

Did you try scanning the QR code on the cam with your phone? It might tell you what it is.

That QR Code is a GM inventory stamp, not something that will be on the internet for a phone to get.

That Cam is an early LS1 Cam.

Specs: 198/209 .500/.500 119.5 LSA
