Default Just bought a D-1 Kit. Now I need some info on cam and such

OK I just bought a D-1 prochager kit. Ok I currently have a set of 68cc PP stage 2 ls6 heads( I know I should have bigger cc but I had them from before) and a 02 zo6 cam. The cam is already in the car(since last year) and I am going to be putting the heads on soon. While I have the motor apart should I go ahead and stick another cam in the car like Thunders Racings blower cam or something of the sort. Also the kit I got is missing the fan/shroud, Fuel pump, and belt. where would be a good place to get this stuff and how long of a belt should I get for stock balancer pulley. This is a 6 rib set up. Thanks

Dan

I have an ATI Fan and shroud for sale if you want it. I also have a good blower cam for a 346 setup for sale too. The numbers in the sig were done with the FM7 cam i have for sale now. Im selling because im going with a new 408 shortblock so the FM7 cam is going to be too small. Anyways PM if you are intesreted.

If it's a stock shortblock I would leave what you got in there.

Thanks For the input. I have a set of 1.8 yella terra rockers that I have up for sale that I was running on my motor with this cam. Maybe I will just keep them and use them with my blower setup or should I switch back to my stockers.

And it still is a stock short block. I was gonna build a 408 this winter but I ended up buying this blower so the 408 is getting put off until next year.

I went 9.48 with a D1SC/345 and an '01 Z06 cam which is smaller then the 02 by a good bit. You dont even need the 1.8 rockers and depending on your springs they may cause more problems then help.

I have a set of Patriot Dual gold springs. I would think they would be ok.

Probably, I had some nasty valve float problems when I tried Crane 1.8 rockers with the 01 Z06 cam and 918s. Car ran fine with the stock rockers back on it so I never tried heavier springs.

I just bought a D-1 prochager kit.
This is a 6 rib set up
I thought the D-1SC kit came with a 8 rib setup and needs a ATI harmonicbalancer ?

The D-1SC pn# 1GJ204-SCI comes with the eight rib kit and the larger 4.5" intercoolers, and requires the ATI Performance Products harmonic balancer.
Last year the 1GJ204-SCI was upgraded to include the 4.5" intercoolers.
Prior to this kit coming out several years ago, the D-1SC was only offered in a six rib configuration.
The D-1SC kit can still be ordered in the six rib configuration, which can be done by ordering the P-1SC kit, and optioning to upgrade the head unit to a D-1SC. This makes the kit cheaper, and I have seen vendors advertising the D-1SC this way. You have to be careful. Bob
