most of the stock cranks are the same casting, sans LS7, with different final machining.

As for power level, been there done that. Many have

Personally, i shifted mine about 8k RPM with power around 1400 crank HP.

I knew you had a hot setup, just didn't know much about it. Makes me feel a lot better about my measly 800hp goals.

My stocker was reused in 3 motors and in the 2nd to the last it was scored some. Harlan can atest to that. He pulled the mains last time. When the motor was rebuilt the crank needed I be cut some and I'm not sure ifnit was nitrated again and if that made it weaker. Not sure. All I know is it was flexing. I was stillnusing stock main caps. This time they will be billit main caps and a forged crank more for cubes then anything. I'd use one and not be scared.

Kyle

Oh yeah. Show off Mike.

From what I hear and have experienced the 5.7 cranks have hollow rod journals and are a little harder to balance without adding mallory metal. The 6.0 Cranks have solid rod journals and can be drilled for balancing purposes. This is all assuming after market rods and pistons and I guess can depend on the bob weight.

Im not doubting any of you guys, the numbers you put up speak for themselves and are insane!! . Just figured I would throw my .02 in.
