I agree I am working on some weight reduction and suspension changes, hoping to improve 60 by a tenth or 2, but 6 tenths is alot to make up with the same horsepower when car seemed to be running great to start with not sure how much more potential it has. I can definetly shift it. i will get 9s even if I gotta spray though LOL

As a note, I ordered my new short block a few weeks ago, should be ready within the next week or so.
Its a 440 ci LS7.... utilizing the stock 4.125" bore with a 4.100" stroke. 11.5-1 cr and has Forged Compstar Crank and Rods and Forged Wiseco pistons.
Can't wait to get back to racing.... I'm a person that races every week, thus, its been hard on me. I still go to the track every weekend, but just watching friends race, but to be honest, that's a form of cruel torture.

You keeping the same top end on the new motor or what?

So far the changes from before to the new motor will be:
440 instead of 427 (4.100" stroke vs 4.00")
11.6 compression instead of 11.0 (or whatever stock was)
I'm getting rid of the CATS.
Probably changing camshafts....have my eye on a custom grind that should add 10-20 hp or thereabouts.
Considering porting the MSD intake. That is it for now....will make final decisions in coming week or two.

Yeah it gets pretty hot and humid here during the summer too so I tent to get it out later in the evening for some Mexico action lol.
Im guessing with the sleeved block you dont have to worry about the pistons coming too far out of the hole on the bottom?
Im in the process of putting a msd on mine right now, the tb opening hits on my water pump but I think it will be a a prettt easy fix.
Do you tune yours yourself?

No, I have a well known tuner dial mine in. I'm happy with his work. Car idled like a stock motor with the BTR stage 3.
Good luck with the water pump clearance thing. That's hot rodding for you.... nothing every fits right the first time.

Yeah I figured you would be bc erl seems to know what they're doing! Okay cool didnt know if you messed with the tune or not it would be neat to compare the files.
Lol yeah seems like every time I about have it done I run into last minute issues but I should know tomorrow if my simple solution fixes the problem.
