Thanks guys.

I’m sure he could have went faster. Seems like it’s hard to put everything together to make the glory runs. I went 9.83 with the big 242/248 which slowed me down around a tenth over the smaller Cam and the air was only around 0da lol. They were having a no prep New Year’s Day deal so I kept the car together and was gonna swap back in the old Cam but they canceled it cause it was too cold. Was like -2500da that day. I would have loved to seen what it could have done with the smaller Cam and mineshaft air. I think I could have crept up on Texas speeds times. We will never know now tho lol

I went 9.93 in the summer time with the old cam and fast 102. The Big Cam was just too much for the compression I had

Looking thru the old threads I always saw Chris13’s times, they almost seemed unreal. Fast forward to now just to be right there with him is pretty cool. Never really my original focus to go that fast on motor but the car kept on getting quicker and quicker.

Getting those killer times sometimes is just luck. We went to a FBODY track rental in Cordova Illinios , was a 2 1/2 hour drive, and when we left the house temps were around 25 degrees. It was one of those days in the late fall where a high pressure was moving in and it got real cold out during the night. When we got to the track the sun was just coming up and I could just tell it was going to get warm out real fast. i went over to check out the track prep and it was like GLUE!!!! Chris went up to just make a test hit and stood it up on the back bumper, on drag radials!!!!

Let me reiterate again that weight reduction helps but is not everything. It’s not even the most important part. I’ve fugged up lighter cars and I’ve beat down cars with almost 1000hp. I have a turbo now and figuring it all out. Let’s hope I’ve specd the right combo. If not I might have to go back N/A
Thanks for the props. 9.8s NA is moving dude, thats something to be damn proud of. That car is gonna be wicked boosted.

No prob! I learned a lot from that thread

I feel like quick NA cars like ours will run exceptionally well on boost. We have done all the little things to make our cars work with less power. Turbo is gonna be icing on the cake

I know man in a perfect world I would have kept it together and built another car for turbo. I think realistically I could have went .40’s or .50’s with some dome pistons and tighter quench. The bigger Cam was begging for more compression. 3 Speed with a trans brake and maybe ditch the y pipe for something a little more free flowing. Either way I had a bunch of fun and really learned a lot about optimizing a setup. I think is should really rip with the new turbo setup

There is alot to be said for "learning" to optimize your set up. So many over look that think they already and just throw parts at it and end up with a machin that runs like poo.

Absolutely. Buddy had a 6.0 in his car equally modded to mine and I got mine .5 second quicker with a 5.7 then his ever was. He was one of those that sells cars every 6 months. No time to actually make a combo work, just throw money at it, get bored with it, sell it, wash, rinse, repeat. People like that annoy me.

Btw. Great times and I am sure Your boosted setup will be very impressive. Attention to detail and combination of parts are really the answer so I know you will be very fast. Congrats again on 9.8’s NA

Great times! I was just curious what made you pick the MSD intake over a Fast for your car?

I had a fast 102 but replaced it with the Msd. I like both intakes a lot. Msd pulled a little further and harder than the fast. Fast hit a wall around 7200. Msd would rev up atleast to 7700. That was the highest I revved it
