BTW I forgot the best pic of all.
Here it is in its current state.
The 6.0l
It will be getting a LS-2 intake and a FAST 90mm TB too. I have to make a seet of headers for it also. Me and Zip have to go through a 65e I bought for it, and then see how long the 7.625" rear holds up. I will be running cal-tracs and MT ET Street radials on the 17' Boyds.

i am not new to the v8 s10 thing. i had a 89 s10 4wd blazer with a zz3 crate motor and a 125shot. i also had a 98 s10 with the suspension package and was going to v8 that thing but never got around to it.
i have a steet truck, my next project will be 90%drag and 10%street and be extremly quick.

Oh yah you would have to be there for sure. That 408 F1 project is gonna be cool. I here ya on those 8's Parish. I have no idea what its like to go down the track that fast either. Next season I am going to work my way through the 9's then go from there. I am only 22 yet so I have some time were I am still in good shape to do so.

man. to run those kinds of numbers. it requires an imense amount of safety equipment. or atleast you are supposed to have it. i cant imagine the amount of chasis tweaking to get that thing down the track to run even 9.90s. and then if you want to go faster. lol. damn.

Hey guys, Im new here and just wanted to let you know what your in for. I am in the process of building a AWD, LS1 powered, 98 sonoma ext cab stepside (putting current truck on 4wd frame and so forth).
The engine came out of my 98 camaro (tree fell on her) putting out about 430hp with a 5 psi turbo and a few other "boltons". I will be upping the boost to 15psi and adding a few more needed things (dont care to list them all, might miss some).
The transmission will be a built 4L80-e coupled to a custom transfer case, with (possibly) 3.42 front and rear gears.
And the engine should be putting out between 600-750+ hp when completed.
Lowered stance, upgraded suspension, brakes (not sure yet), weight distribution as best I can, custom/functional hood and custom/functional air dam are in the mix as well.
Im not exactly sure but I figured in everything and the weight should be right at 3900lbs...And that weight coupled with that power and AWD should make for a devastating mix.
At any rate I should be finished in less that 4-6 months, and I will be posting pics and timeslips ASAP...Im aiming for 7's btw.

No way 7's will be had with that, I was around 600fwhp to run 10.64 in mine that wieghs in at 3300. Try about 1500hp then you will get that number with 3900lbs. i should be making about 1000hp this season and increasing wieght to 3400 or so with a cage and a few other little things. I am shooting for 9's at over 140.

Sarcasm...sub 7's are my dream, not necessarily in the truck, but my dream nonetheless. And a LS1 with all forged internals, 8.5:1 compression, 15-20 lbs of boost (perhaps 30 if I can find what I need), water/alc injection, intake manifold, custom fuel delivery system (just a small portion of upgrades to eng) should be solidly in the 9 maybe 8 sec range with the setup I will have (I will be taking out 200 lbs of sh*t when on the track, lighter rims & tires (-30lbs), lighter driveshafts, lighter hood/doors/interior, 1/4 tank of gas, just to name a few) without all the B/S I should be closer to the weight range youre in...The hp rating is conservative considering I dont have a clue as to how the boost will act with the built engine, the rating I was going by was off stock (or slightly modded)...The truck will not be slow by any means, not in the 7's, but not slow...

Our 454ss club has a Sport Truck Shootout every year in Bowling Green, KY. This year it's the last weekend in July. We hope to get a couple magazine out there this year, it's our 5th year throwing the event.
