How many 8 second LT1 guys have there been?
I'm trying to figure out how many guys have run in the 8's with an LT1 . I know of a few like Sikora, Big Rick, and a few guys are close like Rob Cowlings, Taner, Joe O, Dave Diluca... Does anyone know of others and if so what type of setup???
And I don't care if they kept the LTx manifold. If they used the LT1 block is basically what I'm concerned with... Hell even if they dumped the opti as long as it's a true LT1 block.

Yeah you would think but you gotta think it was only a 5 year run for that engine (92-97) and 8's is haulin ***....By the time people figured out how to run 8's with an LT1 the LS1's were out and alot of people jumped ship.... There have been plenty of low 9 second players.... George Baxter, taner bosnali, Dave Diluca, Joe Overton, I think jay billingsley ran low 9's, and i'm sure a bunch more that either aren't on the internet or we just don't know for sure what they ran....
Alot more have run low 9's than those that have run in the 8's....
But AFAIK, there haven't been many.... Maybe 5.... that are on the net....

So Chris Sikora and Big Rick are the only known people to go 8's with an LT1???? Wow that's less than I thought.... I know that Dave Diluca, Madman, and Baxter all ran super close as well as Taner will figure out how to do it I'm sure even with the T56.......... Damn that's interesting. I thought there would be more.... Hopefully myself and Rob Cowlings can double that number in the next few months.....
Taner, yeah we need to get some 8 second nitrous LT1's on the board man.... Believe me i'm spending all the money to do it it just SUCKS that once you buy what you think is the last thing you get a list from the machine shop and engine builder of "NEW" **** that you need.... it never ends...

that is why it is work in progress rome wasn't built overnight and neither was my car. hell i am dropping a little more on the setup again this year, not very much but some head work and my builder has recommended doing a few more things, which aren't too costly and will only help me go faster.
with the business there isn't much time to race, so i will make the most of it when the n2o centersection gets tossed in the axle housing

The best I've seen from Baxtor was from F-bodyHideout's video selection
http://www.f-bodyhideout.com/videos/baxter_9_04.wmv
George Baxter's 1997 Camaro SS convertible goes 9.04 at 155.33 mph (2001). Make no mistake that this video was shot by Fred Forsythe "Injuneer".

How much have you spent already on the new motor
Ummmm well not having ALL the receipts in front of my probably like 10-12K or so.....
I'll probably have at least another 5K in it cause I still need exhaust, Gen VII DFI, and some electrical stuff and i'm in the process now of a complete fuel system 14 gallon sumped tank, Walbro 2025, 10AN/8AN lines, etc...
But motor only will probably be done for about 10-12ish.... Half filled LT1 block .030 over, Lunati crank, Oliver rods, JE Nitrous pistons, AFR 227's ported, Victor E manifold, Accufab 2000cfm TB, direct port, standalone fuel system for n2o, whole motor is studded, Canton pan, Jesel shaft rockers and big solid roller done by secondstreetspeed....
