Default No Nines For me :(

Well I made a good effort but it was not in the cards today. The car was hooking and leaving hard then blowing the tires away going into 3rd. I got 'THE' talk by the track.

Have a look

First run of the day

2nd and last run of the day

The track was cold and I did not want to join the guy that went over the wall :eeks: I was not the only one. Hell I made a pass in a different car N/A(450RWHP..low 11s) and lost it at the same point.

I checked the car high and low. No fluids exiting any where.

Sure would have been nice to get a full pass and join in here but it just was not in the card. Previous best pass was a 10.05@135 with a 1.49 60ft. and a 4.19 330ft. this was hitting the limiter in asecond and breaking up 100ft out from the traps. Today I went 1.45 60ft and 4.13 330ft twice before loosing it.

Looks like you were going through a little dip right before you shifted to third gear. It is hard to make it through something like that on a cold track. I always run my rear shocks a little softer on slick tracks. Good saves though. Car sounds mean as hell.

Don't feel bad. Thursday night a local guy that I know HAD a beautiful blue with black top 69 Nova SS....

All aluminum 5XX motor, belt drive cam, 1050 dominator, 300 shot, big tire and 4 link.

Last two times at the track he hurt the motor/trashed one.

He went 9.5 on the motor. Last run sprayed it going for low 8's and picked the front end up and droped it pretty hard. Was doing from what I have heard 132 threw the 8th and it yanked really hard and threw it into the wall. Car flipped on its roof and I think it then hit the other wall.

They said that it was so bad they could not get the car flipped over and had to drag it on its roof off the track

He thinks its so bad that most of the motor might be trashed......

From what a buddy said who talked to him the frame was bent back a good two feet

I guess whats good in it will be pulled then its off to the junk yard.....

Did not get 9's but you were able to save it and the car

Good saves! Some people would have stayed in it to reach their goals this late in the season and chanced wrecking the car. I am glad you backed off the throttle. You are on the verge of that 9 sec pass. You are there....just needed a good track to do it. Congrats! Now you can work out the small bugs and get the car back in shape for spring. Good job!

Good save. That looks like a pretty good dip right there. Looks like a drive thru or something. What track is that?

Take that car to a good race track and you will be suprised at the results. Good luck with the 9's.

Good save.

You'll get there. Go to a better track and get that 9 sec. slip.

cooler weather is a double edged sword when you start making some decent power. Horsepower is up, traction is down, and most tracks wint do anything for prep on T&T days if they will be closing soon. I have to drag my car 500+ miles to get decent air AND decent traction at a good track

Either way you are lucky, I would have gave up after the first one

Thanks guys. Going over the video(glad we got that!) you can see a transition seam from where they repaired the track at one time.

The Track is Bremerton Raceways. It is still an airport when we are not racing. They always treat us great.

Pacific Raceway was rained out last week. PR Is a NHRA National event track but treat us like crap most of the time.

We are done till Spring. I might do some more to the car. My goal was to run a nine and then go back to N/A and dail it in to high tens for bracket racing. We run a bracket series for clubs through the race season

Thanks every one. Hope fully this spring I can join the club

+1. Find a well prepped track and it's in the bag.
