3.90 or 4.10 gears?

M6 or Auto? You sure you'll be down to 2400lbs race weight? Thats really light for an FD, a FC maybe....

Hinsons car weighed in at 2800lbs (3000 race)

Don't know where you plan to take 600lbs out of the car.

2800lb race weight seems more reasonable if you are all gutted.

That sounds stupid fast. 9's should be pretty easy with a 250 shot especially at that weight.

Exactly, Race weight is with you in the car.

By the time you add a cage, SFI bellshousing, etc the weight adds up quickly.

Also don't forget that race weight is with you in the car too.

It's a nice combination, a 5.3 or what ever in an RX-7. I think your weight estimate is off, too low.. I've seen three of these run at the track, all on street tires, all manual. They will run 11's. That's faster than most Z06's. I caution you about running a 250 shot having never driven the car.....

Sounds like you don't even have the combo together? Sure the car will run 9's. Hell it might run 8's. Generally, most people make small changes to cars and achieve the most success. Are you licensed to drive 9's? Is the car legal? Your 60' times will be 1.4 if you don't blow the tires off, if the tranny and engine holds together, if you don't **** your pants and slide off the seat.

Conclusion, go tell your buddy you have an untested 9 second car. You're headed that direction but I don't think it's really that easy, good luck.

Hello, I wasn't ing with you. Hopefully you'll put this combo together. If you build it, build it legal. If you own it get a license. All this crap is required to make the sport fun and safe. If you don't care about yourself, your parents do. I care about the person in the next lane. They have every right to know the car next to them is safe when you race on a drag strip.

I may have missed something. I saw 5.3 heads but is it a 5.3 motor? and I would ditch the MAF and go with a speed density tune. my .02

Our Camaro went an easy 10.1@133 1.45 @ 3300 raceweight with a 150 shot and a stock cube 11:1 cam/heads setup. That was with a 4.10 and 28's. You should run easy mid 9's on a 250 shot though I think 4.10's will be too much gear.
