Default Help i need peoples knowledge on vortec blocks

Okay I have found a vortec block the guy believes is a 1999 model. Do all the vtecs after 98 have roller cams? He said he wasn't sure if it did. I am looking for a roller cam block and this one seems like its a good deal with only 54,000 miles on it. Its just an hour away so I kinda wanted to find out more before I drove out to it

thanks

Brian

check to see the cid, it will read either 5.7 or 5.0 at the rear of block.
vortecs came in both cid, and look identical from exterior

make sure that the block is a vortec 5.7 and not an ls based vortec 4.8, 5.3 or 6.0. they made all of them in 99
