well im not sure how it should be but the back float level registers about 1/4 way on the window(there is 3 horizontal lines its at almost the first one) and the front does not even register unless u shake the truck and then it sloshes a little bit on the window. there is four little screws(2 on each side of each bowl) that i have turned 2 1/2 turns out. there is also two larger screws on top of each bowl with a nut. im not sure how to go about adjusting them but when i try to back the screw out some to i assume allow more fuel and tighten the nut, the nut will not tighten and fuel leaks out.

The 2 big screws with nuts on them on top are the float bowl adjustments.

The fuel level should be just below the window...when you lightly shake the truck fuel should slosh out.

What kind of heads/intake are you running?

Is the carb new or have you used it on something else before?

If you have another one, even if its too small for the motor try a different one if you can find one/borrow one.

Have you found out if the MSD box still has power when the motor dies?

OK, progress. Now it sounds like maybe you've got your idle speed set too low.

Are you adjusting things by using a tachometer (not the one in the car), or by ear? If by ear, quit doing that, and get a real tach on it.
