No Slam on Turbos but I have LUSTED after a Tunnel Rammed or Roots Blown since 1990.

I was in college & attended the Super Chevy Show at Norwalk and have pined for a fast street/strip Pro-Street car since.

I love the Roots Blower, read last month's Car Craft.

Wouldn't this path be easier/cheaper in the long run than a High CR,Tunnel Rammed, solid roller cammed, 509-557 CID, N2O injected engine?
Why on Earth would you destroke it? You would be giving up 30ci with the same bore! I stand by the old mantra, "no replacement for displacement". I say stroke it and turn that 472 into a 533.

Roots blowers are cool and all but they are also very inefficient and tend to heat soak badly, making them somewhat inconsistent. If you do want to go with a supercharger, go with a centrifugal and forget about the nitrous. You can make 1000hp on pump gas with a blown BBC without nitrous. Just to give you some ideas, look up Steve Morris Race Engines to see his Procharged Big Blocks that make over 1600hp on pump gas. Nitrous is just a little too volatile for my taste, but whatever floats your boat.
