Good "Street" electric fuel pump for <400HP SBC?
I used to run a Mallory pump on the Caprice. When I
had the engine rebuilt & hopped up I went with an
Edelbrock mechanical pump. Which works fine for fuel
delivery, but because this car sits for weeks, starting
is a bitch. I had to crank it so long today to prime the
carb, that the electric choke went full open and I had
to pour gas down it to get it to go. So I want to go back
to electric (plus, it's a useful security feature).
I'm not sure the old Mallory has much life left in it, or
is up to the new heads/cam fuel demand up top. It also
tended to push more pressure than a Holley could buck
with the float valve, needing an inline regulator.
Any recommendations for a dead reliable, 400HP capable,
decently pressure regulated (self-) pump for street duty?

i have a mallory comp 140 with a barry grant regulator on my bigblock truck running a 950 dblpumper, its plenty pump for that... system works good..
i like the gerator pumps better, they tend to be maintenance free and last a long time.
i dont like self-regulated pumps unless its the bypass style...

If you are against running a regulator you can get a 115gph procomp pump for 40 dollars that does not require a regulator. Pm me and ill let you know where if you need the info.
