DIstributor Hold down questions !
I actually still use an OLD style stock piece most of the time.
All the fancy & pretty ones are a waste and not very strong.
If I had to buy something new, these have been fine.

What about rotational movement. I cant understand why there arent any hold downs that keep the dizzy locked from rotating. I understand dizzy height using proper shims, proper gear material etc and all that are key to making sure the dizzy sits without issue but isnt it subject to any vibration and desire to rotate when spinning a motor 8000rpm
If it's well designed, and fits correctly, the dist is rock solid.
When you start using the cheap & chrome crap, then you have issues with movement.
My 582" spun 9400 and it had a stock hold down, that was probably 20 years old.

One thing I have learned, the paper thin, hard as a rock gasket sucks.
I always use the little thicker, pliable gasket, it holds better against twist.
I also don't use an oil pump, so I don't worry about the shaft and the thicker gasket.
