i was wondering how everyone else that has done a sbc swap in a mustang are wiring their alternators.
my alternator only has the "BATT" post and single (brown wire) harness. The "BATT" is connected directly to the "+" post on the batter. The brown wire from the harness is connected to the "S" (switched) post on the fender solenoid. I switched the brown wire to the "B" post on the fender soleniod and it still doesn't charge the battery nor does it show the voltage on the stock cluster gauge.

if you can post the make/model of your alternator, i might be able to help. the way you described what you're connecting in your first post means nothing to me, too vague.
I don't know that era mustang so i have no idea what kind of alternators they used, whether the regulator was internal or external, and how the engine computer if any may have interfaced with it. fox body is 1986-93? pre odb ?
