i agree - no offense airbman21 but those blocks are $5K and you could delete that for a cast dart block and spend the change on better cylinder heads and you will make WAY more power for the same money... my unsolicited $0.02!

I spend the dough on a brodix alum block but I am planning on making over 2000hp eventually and my car is a nose heavy lump of a car so I need the 150lbs off the nose!

for the money, it's a good motor. i would strongly recommend stepping up to their next power level for 2 reasons. 1st, your car is heavy to begin with, so a BBC is only going to make it that much hevier. and 2nd, the next level up in power also means aluminum heads/weight reduction. another benefit to that is if you ever want to add more power, you can go with something like a ProCharger setup or turbo if you've got the money, and make more power with the aluminum heads due to being able to push more air in/boost using the same grade gas as you would with less psi and iron heads. it will be worth it either way you go, but definately suggest using the aluminum heads!

oh, and btw........i would give someone like Fast Times Motorworks (847) 966-3278-Illinois) a call. they could more than likely build you a 468 for the same $$$$ and at least the same power, although World DOES underate their HP levels by some degree. hope that helps.

hey thanks for your ideas it helped. I decided to go with the world 427 all aluminum hardcore 550 horse and 525 torque. The brodix aluminum block from shafiroff was only 4k though jsut to let you know. the world motor is only about 12 grand its just i tohught the wati is 3 months...its only about 50 days. The world is gunna have a solid lifter(i love it) and me being 17 i think thats more than enough hp and torque haha. I dont think pops will let me have much more.

The plan is to build a 42x cid sbc, with PONTIAC 15 degree heads. I will be using a Crower 3.875 crank, and Lentz 6.0 rods. T.R.E. will be doing the machine work/ assembly. This combo will be in a 94 formula. I have no idea as to what the rest of the car will consist of.

Looking to build a 350 .30 over with a set of nice flowing heads. 2.02 valves and 1.6 roller rockers. mid .500 lift cam, Edelbrock manifold with a 750 cfm doublepumper.

The current set up a 350 .30 over. S/R toquer heads, 1.6 rockers, .477 lift cam. I need to change the heads, they dont flow enough. So I figured why not a bigger cam at the same time with a set of 64 cc heads
