A 2 bolt will handle just about anything you throw at it IF IT"S BUILT RIGHT. You need a well-balanced rotating assembly and ARP bolts on the bottom. I've heard of people running 1000hp 2 bolts with no problems. It's been done on an LT1 block before. Every machinist I've talked to all say that a studded 2 bolt block is the strongest configuration you can get out of an OEM block. This is most true on a 400 SB where machining out more metal out of the already weakened webbing can hurt strength.

1996 lt1 2 bolt. Gridle . Arp bolts. Forged rod . Forged pistons. Stock caps. We're told by lt1 maichist here in Michigan, will support 1200 hp.
How much hp would the stock crank will hold, as they flex above 700 hp?
