383 Stroker from a 350 TPI
I was looking at an 84 z28 today with a 383 stroker in it, 5-speed and 3.73 rear end..
just wondering what kind of power and gas mileage would come out of that
i'm buying a second car for the summer, my budged is short since im in university..im considering that 84 camaro and an 85 trans am thats just been painted, has 305 with auto..
the trans am is in perfect shape, but the z28 needs some body work..
trans am is $4000, z28 is $2500, but alot faster..
i dont have much time to do body work this summer, but i could easily do it, but i do not want to get he car if it will have like 14mpg or something like that

From: Gainesville, Florida # of drag strips runs: ?!?!?
could get 10-13 mpg city, 14-17 mpg highway. It depends on how well it's tuned and how nasty the build-up is. TPI may help out over a carb'd application, but again the tune needs to be on to help out in power and mileage.
Power is way too general to guess without knowing cam, heads, exhaust, etc etc. It's like trying to guess what a car will run without opening the hood, knowing the specs, or knowing the driver's abilities.
My 383 gets 13 mpg on the highway at 70 mph, but it's carb'd, no overdrive and not very aerodynamic So it can vary a bunch....
More specifics will get you better (more) answers.

i'm not sure what heads it has..but theyre new, and its a single exhaust, but i dont know much about it at all..just had a quick look under the hood
and thanks alot for the info about gas mileage..i dont think i'll get it. Right after i buy the car i have to drive about 5000 miles to go for work in the summer..plus it will be the only car i'll be driving until the winter
