valve clearance issues with sbc
the engine i have is a gen 1 350
Camshaft Description:
Part Number K 12-214-4
Grind Number CS 305H-10
Specifications:
Valve Lift .525" .525"
Duration At 0.006" 305° 305°
These specs are for the cam installed at 106° intake center line:
Duration @ 0.050" 253° 253°
Lobe Separation 110°
The truck has a cam in it as it is. But we aren't sure which. The heads are iron so I believe those are stock as well.
the last dozen or so Lunati cams we checked did not even have the same #s on the aposing side 1 / 6 much less the rest of the motor but customer is always right and we installed cant tell if it does anything but it sure does not seem right when you check it in my shop the crane stuff is always what it sayes and lobe runout and cam straightness is mostly right on if not they take it back no so with comp a month ago we built a 540 w/ a 748 748 roller and had to advance it 6 deg just to get it to match the cam card we called their tech and was told thats in the spec or some other bull but you are correct if you dont check it you will be doing it again real soon jz
