I also have learned a lot from Vizard. He does a lot of testing when he tries new combos. His book on modifying the small block Chevy heads is also excellent and goes into more detail than the budget build book.

He spent a lot of time on the dyno. Some of his book is outdated, but it's mostly timeless information. Also, don't expect to recreate his combinations for the $ he had into them. lol That must be one lucky son of a gun. "For this build I used some AFR 180cc heads set up for a solid roller valve train. I as able to buy them for $350 with fresh machine work."

yeah you are right, figured that prices would be off, but yeah you are right some prices are way out there. I recently went and calculated the price for one of the combos and it came out to $4500 compared to his $2700.

^Keep in mind a lot of his books are older and things were much less expensive at those times. Vizard is the man. I have his "How to build horsepower with any engine Volume 1." As Cantalope Kid said, trust every word!
