Our Top Sportsman truck is almost complete!!
After a year and a half we only have very minor details to be completely done!! We finally got a new set of dominators and re-dynoed this past weekend and the engine made 1104hp 818tq. Its a 565" BBC with a Dart block, RHS 320's, 3 stage dry sump, 16.2:1, etc. all done by Abbott Racing Heads/Engines. Can't hardly wait to get it on the track!!

The chassis was built by Smith Racecraft for PST but we had to have a lot of extra work done to get a big block and a powerglide in it. We built the motor and did pretty much all of the other odds and ends.

First time out with our truck at Abilene. We were trying to run Texas Pro Stock and only made three passes before the transmission broke. Converter is too tight and we had to add 253lbs so it would weigh over the minimum of 2500. Weighs 2515. Best pass was a 5.00@138 with a lot more tuning left. We hope to go low 4.8's next time out with the changes we're making.

It was a stupid mistake. Didn't get the converter in all the way when we had the TCI pump in it the first time and it tore that pump up so we put a stock pump in it we had laying around and it spun the staitor(sp) tube out.

Gasoline. The 5.00 was on VP C15. We still have two other fuels to try that are worth 30-40HP. Alcohol is a 50lb weight penalty. http://www.texasprostock.com/tpsarules.html are the rules for TPSA.
Human error is a bitch though. It ended up toasting the band. The high gear drum had a huge groove cut into it. Reverse clutches were toast. On the last attempt at a pass, when I hit the T-brake and nailed it, the motor went straight to the 8800 high side chip.
