350 with powerglide... H/C/I or Supercharger
OK, I just pick up a 350 with powerglide both were just rebuilt 4000 miles ago. They were replaced with a 392 with T400.
The motor is a stock rebuild with a mild cam. I have about $3500 to pay with.
I was thinking of the 435HP Edelbrock power pack combo H/C/I.
Or a 142 or 6-71 supercharger on the stock motor.
Any input, Thanks.

the motor and glide were free... a buddy bought a 69' camaro, the motor and teans has about 4000 miles on them. he droped in a 396 with a TH400.
I got the motor and trans, Its going in a late 40's rat rod.

What's the compression on the motor and what pistons, crank and rods do you have? If it's for a street car depends on the heads, junk heads on a 350 with a 6-71 isn't going to make a ton of power and adds a good amount of weight.
If it is a decent motor and you can put 6-10 psi in it the 6-71 would look cool and make awesome low to mid power.

i would assume it a 9.5:1 motor with cast crank, oem rods, and cast pistons.
once its on the engine stand i will post up casting #'s... I do know is a 4 bolt main block.

I wouldn't rev a stock motor so I think heads and cam to try to make power isn't that great. Cast pistons you're limited on boost, but it would be easier to make 400 hp and do it at a lower rpm than getting a Edelbrock H/C/I motor to make same power, either way 400 hp the boosted motor will make more torque and you'll be able to run less converter and less gear, which I think makes for a better street car.
