well when i have been driving it i always put it in neuteral at redlights or stop signs and then lightly put back into gear..... doing that for a few weeks should have been ok until the new converter wouldnt you say? have a TCI 2,000 stall in it right now and putting a yank 4,000 in a few weeks

it won't hurt it, thats acually what i had to do and give mine some gas even in nuetral where it was starving for fuel and air until i got my new carb.

I drive cars in traffic with 5000+ converters on a regular basis, run a big cooler with a fan and you'll be fine.

BTW Jet size really has no effect on idle and low speed operation as they are on a different circuit in the metering blocks. So you had some other issue going on with your other carb


And yes bluebeast the looser converter will greatly improve the way it idles in gear....

yes a vac secondary to begin with and went to a d/p for enough fuel to idle. then to run like i wanted it needed jetting. im not a rookie to carbs, i just started playing with f/i engines.
