if you plan on going lsx sometime in the future i would go ahead and get a nice dual puller or pusher setup, since you will want that for the lsx anyway
but yeah with no other problems your heating up because you dont have any kind of shroud think of it this way, electricity follows the path of least resistance, with a fan with no shroud, its easier to pull air from just in front of the radiator than it is to actually pull air through the radiator

Dual puller setup that is also shrouded. You'll use them later on with the swap, so why half-fix it now just to end up buying the e-fans later.

Especially since it's while moving, it tells you its probably needs to be sealed. I had a big dodge work truck.
Threw a new engine in & didn't put back the shroud or the blocking from the grill to core support.
The air just went around the sides. As mentioned, less resistance. See if it's possible to seal the front
so the air must go through the radiator. The dodge just had some thick plastic filler panels that were helping direct air flow.
