The track will be opening the around March 1st and the new owners, own a Royal Purple distributorship in the Dallas area. They have a race on the schedule for May 9 . I believe the track will have a booth at the World of Wheels car show Jan 16,17 & 18 at the Shreveport Convention Center. Please tell everyone you know. Thanks

This is great news! I've raced there as a regular bracket racer for many years (the short time its been open) then started racing up at Prescott for the past year. It will be nice to meet all of you friday night guys since I'm getting into the new LS based motors. So I'll be going Friday nights in the camaro and I'll be bracket racing the Vega and Dragster on Saturday's.

So, anyone know what happened with the deal? I heard it fell through last week but I also heard that there is another person in line to buy the place. Anybody know anything about it?

I hate to say it but if this area does not get the track back running,the street racing will run wild again. I remember back before RRR was opened up the street racing scene was at it's highest peak.
A local track will cure alot of the need for speed off the track,Just stateing the facts! If the judicial system is concerned about keeping street racers shut down then i think they should look at the alternative in helping their racetrack programs on small state fundings during hard times but that IMO.

I definately agree with you on that Scott. It's starting to pick up already. Relatively quick for that matter with everyone knowing the track is closed for good. Today is the day that the funds were supposed to go through so hopefully they'll let us know tonight or tomorrow on what happened. If they don't say then I guess it'll be safe to assume that we won't have a local track anymore.
