laying drag

Depends on the judge you get. I knew a kid who got 3 months probation for laying drag in Gwinnett county. Then I've other people get off with a $100 fine.
I really think it just boils down to the judge you get and what kind of mood he's in that day.

I got one of those tickets a few years back after leaving one of our Hooters meetings (that never happen anymore )
Gwinnett county, I believe it was something in the mid $100s. I don't remember having to appear though.

In Chatham County, years ago, I got out of a laying drags ticket due to the definition. Laying Drags is making your car spin, gyrate, or rotate for exhibition and such. If you were roastin em comin off the line, they hafta find another charge. If you had lost traction, as I did, due to rain or whatever, chances might be with you for dismissal. Sorry, this is isnt an answer to your specific question, but wanted to share a relevant experience.

I got the same ticket in Americus, GA a few months back. I ended up spending a night in jail for it. $200 for laying drag and $1,000 for "reckless driving". The laying drag was a mandatory court appearance(I assume so the judge could chew me out or something). I ended up getting both tickets dropped. Lawyers are amazing.

Heh... I got one in Mableton 20 years ago, 238'... And yes, they measured it. $253 fine, and 40 hours community service. Needless to say, my driving record was less than impeccable at that time...
