Fellas I need your input on a situation I experienced in my car a few weeks back. To make a long story short I was cruising on the interstate and I decided to mash the accelerator at around 90 mph within two or three seconds of doing this there was a very loud bang and knocking noise coming from the underneath the console area of the car and no power was being transferred to the wheels. Basically it sounded like something was rotating and hitting against something. I thought it was the transmission so I pulled over turned the car off, started the car back up put it in drive and to my amazement the car pulled off and ran fine afterward. I was taking a drive to the Mississippi coast, the event happened a little after Slidell but since the car seemed fine I kept on my way and I drove back to New Orleans later that evening. This past weekend I jacked the car up to have a look underneath, I couldn't tell if there was anything wrong with the driveshaft, The bolts on my transmissions oil pan needed to be tightened, but visually I cannot tell what may have happened. I spoke with Shane at RPM and he dismissed the notion that it was a transmission problem based on the fact that I said the car drives fine and shifts fine. I haven't pushed it that fast since that happened but please let me know what you guys think, thanks.

I don't believe it did, I didn't touch the shifter either. I was on the throttle when it happened. I would give it gas and I would hear the banging under the car but there was no power being transferred to the rear end. I gave it a little right before I stopped it on the side of the road and it still did it. But it totally went away once the car was turned off and put back in gear.

Definitely will do.
Possible torque converter chatter? Has it every done this before?

Nice, my car is getting street/dyno tuned. Should be getting it back around lunch Saturday so I'll be missing the cars and coffee. We will have some guys coming from Lafayette though. Keep a look out for a red 17' ZL1 and orange 16" zo6.

Didn't see the ZL1 or Z06. Had a pretty decent turn out though. Seems like not as many cars came to the new location, maybe it's just because the parking lot is a lot smaller, but there was still some nice cars out there.
Only 3 F-bodies there though including me and my friend, other one was a TT 2nd gen bird.

Yeah I saw pictures. Looked like a good turnout. Also heard that they lost that new location already. A couple of businesses were complaining that their parking spots where taken from potential customers.

Yeah it's a shame, the spot before this was so perfect too. Hopefully they'll find another good one.
Going back to laffy for the summer next week so I'll probably be seeing you at some of the meets. FM5s look great by the way.
