Default How much do you think???

I am going to start shopping around for a place to do an exhaust setup on my truck. I think I really want to go with Hooker mufflers since they give the rawest tone that I've heard so far... but how much should an average price be for the mufflers, 2.5" stainless piping in a true-dual form the stock cats back, then dumped both before the axle?

Dunno, but I have a buddy who is one of the worlds' best in Canton, if you want his #, holla. He was at Grand Muffler way back when when Buster owned the place.

Dont know what side of town you are on...But call Andy's Muffler in Snellville. They put 2 1/4" stainless with 2 Flowmasters from the cat back, over the axle, turn outs each side on my 04 Dodge QC. for $286. Did a great job. (also did my bird).

I would ask for Andy and tell him you have used them before. They put my cats on and I already had them.

IDK about andy's. my g/fs parents use to always take their cars there; tune ups, emissions, about anything. well they had a problem with one of their cars, changed their oil and i guess didnt tighten the drain plug and the engine locked up. well they took it to andy's and they said it was fucked and offered them $250 for the car, a 95 escort. well they took it back to their house, her brother replaced the timing chain and a few other things for like less than $300 and ran fine.

i went there one time asking about exhaust and they were very rude. they just seem shady to me

is there a better alternative? I just really want 2 short pipes coming off the cats into 2 mufflers and dumped well before the axle.

just your standard exhaust pipes will be sufficient unless you just want the stainless...

I agree...The industry standard is Aluminized tubing, which will last as long as most folks own a vehicle, and then some... Stainless will be big bucks- I suspect the $286 system mentioned above was actually Aluminized steel-

Keep in mind, a magnet will stick to aluminized pipe, as it is aluminum coated steel...
