I'm in too..I'll be bringing some of the southern VA f-body guys with me. Anybody know any shortcuts or good "paths" to take down? Also, is anyone meeting up in NC or SC? would like to meet up and caravan down if possible.

At the gate cost is $50 but only $40 if you pre-register.
Hooking at the CD (house of hook) will not be an excuse, so bring some others (excuses) with ya.
My car will be there if things go well!

We ended up hating the event and stopped making the 4+hr trip down to SDR. I am guessing with new 'leadership' of GAFBA this has been addressed?

It may not be up to par for a 10 second or faster machine but there are not many "for fun" events that are prepped well enough for a machine like that.
Now my car has been down to SDR on a TnT night and the track was NICE, actually posted the new Bolt On Record at that track during TnT night.
Commerce sucks no matter when you go.

My car is no 60ft king by no means but I had to add air to my ET Streets in order to bring my 60fts up. Yep, that's right I wanted to bring my 60fts up because I still have a 10 bolt. I think a 10 bolt will work fine as long as you consistantly run a 1.80 or worse sixty foot. I had to run roughly 25lbs in the ET Streets to run low 1.80s. Any lower {say 20lbs} and I would start to dip into the high 1.70s. I've been going since 2000 and most {not all} had great track prep. Come on down, would love to see ya down there. Can't guarantee you great prep but I can guarantee lots of runs!

We run 26x11.50x15 ET Streets or 26X10X15 ET Drags.
We hooked on a TnT night late 2005 but when I was going down there in the late 90s for the GAFBA event it never hooked. Different people were in charge of the club back then so there might be different results now.
FYI- this car dead hooks most everywhere now with the 4.33s and the listed tires, but we dont make much power out of the stock LT1, just pulling mid 1.6s.

track wasnt very good two or three years ago when i went. looked like their where grooves dug in the track comming out of the burnout pit. when a radial tire car pulled thru. it drug water out. i did see some faster cars hooking tho. i guess it depends on who's running in front of you.
