My buddy Shannon bought that Cobra back from Wes today.....gonna do some work on it, the bushings in the rear are making some hellified noise, and look to be wore out....got some new ones...

We may ride out to 62 for sure this weekend and embarrass ourselves....

The cobra makes 630+/- no BS there. The problem is that the car is in no shape to be racing. The bushings in the IRS are shot and the clutch is WAY out of adjustment. Like Chris said, let us get the bushings replaced and the clutch lined out, and then I'll run you in it. Hell, I'll even let Chris drive

 

So is anyone going to the pontiac car show this saturday in cullman?, I will be there with my 2002 trans am, and my 1964 GTO.

Yeah, I know. Last time a 600+ hp cobra was down at 62, everybody and their brother was on their cell phone calling their buddies to come down and whip up on the turbo cobra. Oh, and NOBODY got it done.

I'm all about racing though...next time you guys head out there let me know. I'll bring this slow as LS1 car just for the hell of it.

 

well i wasnt down there when you brought the turbo car down there because i got a buddie that would put a woopin on it.sad thing is its a fox body.ive beat a few (terminators) in my old lt1 car,ive never raced one in this car and never one with a aftermarket blower on it though so we'll see how it goes
its supposed to rain all weekend again so maybe next weekend?
o and let me know when you want to bring the turbo car down ill get the fox body to come down there.

 

well, I've heard the "my buddies got a car" story so many times that I hear it in my sleep... The turbo car had about a million to one record and I doubt the fox is as quick as the car that give it that -1- loss...LOL!

I'm gonna be out of town this weekend anyway. Maybe we'll have the bushings and everything taken care of before the next weekend. If not, I'll bring something down there for you guys to chase....

 

yea i hate hearing that to cant belive i said it but im willing to throw a bill on saying its faster than your turbo car so you may want to think about breaking the winning streak.

The turbo car has been down for a while now. It's became one hell of a project. Waiting on a cage right now (Wolfe Race Craft must operate on a different calender than we do cause it was supposed to have been here 2 months ago). The new combo will be a completely different animal. As for your betting a bill on it, that's not even enough to get me to take the cover off of it... That's all I'm gonna say about that. Ask Chris if you want to know the rest....LOL!

The KB cobra was just something we picked up to resell and make a few bucks on. It is honestly making 630 to the wheels. Lots of variables when racing a car like that. Driver error is just one of them. I've also got a 92 coupe and a 99 TA.

 

i gotta a match to 30th6's bill. and i want a turn at chasing the notorious turbo stallion down with the million to 1 record.

 

hum i no somebody looking for a t/a and a cobra you whats the price on both? well i heard the turbo car ran 6s so if thats true you need to drop to bout mid 5s to be with the fox body.

 

The TA is the one Nick Looney had. Pretty well known car I guess. Not sure what I'd take for it, but it's definitely for sale.

My brothers turbo car runs 6's. Mine never made a clean pass as any track. Not sure what it'd run honestly. But I do know that it's outran lots of cars that everyone was sure would beat it. Not the fastest car in town I'm sure, but it did hold its own. That's all over now though. The car is in at least 2 million pieces right now. Still going to be a couple months till its ready.

 

well if thats not enough how bout a few friendly street races just for some braggin rights maybe thats enough to get the cover off it

 

Once its put back together, everyone in town can have their chance. But for those guys who insist on running for money, it's going to take more than a couple bills

 

You know, I honestly don't talk ****....expecially to guys I know...but you guys really have no clue about the Turboed Cobra....man....

And the Fox is probably Joey Riley....or is it Josh Cody? Those names fly around everywhere....and everyone has seen those cars run....

 

same here i try my best not to have conflicts,yea i just talked to josh cody and he said he would put a grand on it and would drive to anywhere you wanted to race.he said he would rather do it at the track because there wont be any room for error being flager or spinning,his car is a full stock interior 10" tire street car .so just let me know when you get it back together,he wanted to know if a grand was enough to pull the cover off?

 

A grand will do....I agree the track is better....we have no problem running at the track....

I will say this, and I know Josh can relate....either Huntsville or US43, because we all know 247 is ****....LOL....

Also, keep in mind, the Cobra is a true 10" tire car and full interior as well....should be a good race....we'll let y'all know when its finished!!

Before, Joey's car would have probably been a good race, especially on a good track. And, yes, he may have actually been able to get the job done. Maybe not...? And I don't guess I know Josh Cody, so I cant say either way there.

And if he'll drive anywhere to race, lets see him drive it to St Louis with the a/c on and the radio cranked up with the cruise control set on about 85 and average 22 mpg on the trip. With the old setup, the cobra did just that. That's where peoples definition of "street" car comes into play.

But either way, it's all just fun and games, at least til someone looses some money
