Default Trans Shop

From my past experience the best transmission shop in North Alabama is B & L transmission in Muscle Shoals Alabama. I have had them to build me auto's and manual's. Never had a minutes trouble A1 in my book!!!!!!!!!

Not worth the money and trouble.

How much is an arm and a leg worth to you, and how fast do you want to go?

About as true as an under drive pulley being worth it. Miles? Oil consumption?

For a stock cam and weight, anywhere from a 3500-4000

Should be fine. Put some rod bolts in if you bump the power way up or turn some rpm's.

You could, but it's gonna be a turd without a converter and probably will hurt the stock trans pretty fast. Then you'll be in the whole some money. Even on a budget setup probably 4k for h/c built trans and converter. However, it would be an 11 second car.

Well a budget head is the 243. After that I'd say the prc 2.5 5.3 heads. That plus a torquer cam makes a good street setup with about 450whp. Rod bolts, turn it to 6500ish, and a 3500 converter had better get it off in the 11's.

Honestly, you might as well build a motor on the side if you want to get in the internals. Do it on the side, and do a 4.000 or larger bore so you have expanded head options
