Ark-La-Tex Drag Meets ???? I guess winter is here and we have nothing better to do then work on the cars and see what's up on LS1 Tech. Anyway, i saw where some of the members from Arkansas came to Red River Raceway one Saturday for test and tune. I think they really enjoyed their time at the track. We could really have some goodtimes this year getting together, seeing the faces, and the cars that go with these wild and crazy screen names on here. To get to the point would any members from the Ark La Tex area be interested in starting a little get together for some goodtimes and racing? We could race at Red River one time in Louisiana, Arkansas once, Texas once. Good time to start planning, what do ya'll think?????

I believe Red River Raceway is still running every friday & saturday weather permitting. Need to call Ken & check first though. Ken (owner) 903-571-7137 or Adam ( general manager ) 903-570-6779.

i wouldn't be opposed to something early next year, i'm thinkin around march will probably be the next time i race. i refuse to drive all the way back to the track to run 13's.

Red River has been running some as long as the track temp. is up enough to be safe. Right now we are just planning, want to see what we can get together and when. South Central Division Lucas Oil Series starts in Houston, Tx. Feb. 16-18, Belle Rose, La. March 2-4, Memphis, Tenn. March 23-25. Maybe we could look at March 17, that is a Saturday and this would give us plenty of time to talk to Ken and Molly at Red River. At this time i'm trying to get my cam, timing chain, oil pump, lifters, valve springs and pushrods in. Have 4000 yank stall to do and tranny work along with that, plus roll bar. Santa is putting a crimp in my style right now. Would like to get a large LS1 show together, these s'tang things are starting to get to me.

Looks like the Arkansas LS1 guys have been getting together and having good times for a while. That's what i would like to see here in northwest Louisiana and northeast Texas. I wrote Ken and Molly at Red River Raceway and told them what we were trying to do. Come on Louisiana and Texas let us hear from you, bring out those LS cars this spring. We'll shoot for a March date, does that sound good say March 17th a St. Patrick's Day Blowout at Red River.

Just got a reply back from Molly at Red River and they would be very happy to have us there in March, so we have the ball rolling. There could be a "pot of gold" at the finish line or at least a "green beer". So let's say we will shoot for March 17th St. Patrick's Day and may the luck of the Irish be with all. Here it is Christmas Eve and this is looking good, i'm trying to keep count of those coming from all three states. So if you have not checked the poll for your state please do so. If the showing gets up there i will go out and try to arrange some prizes that we can draw for ( if you know anyone that may be interested in a donation, ask ). I would like to get something started here we can be proud of. Would like to shoot for an annual event, 1st Annual St. Patricks Day LS1 Tech Bash, March 17th 2007 at Red River Raceway. This get together would be put on by Ark La Tex members primarily as a fun time to meet other LS1 Tech members from area, share information about our rides and race. I would like to think little red camaro, Darbadocious, bene, and LS1 wfo for their posts about Red River that started this ball rolling. Can't wait to meet ya'll. Got the word today, and there will be about 10 of us from Texarkana as of now, but I am going to keep working on it and try to get more than that. And Caddo, that sounds like a great idea about the prizes, I'll see what we can come up with. Last night at the Sonic we all were talking about it and can't wait to all meet up. Also if your borded on a Saturday night, you northern La boys could always drive up and meet up with us. The more the merryer. I hope you all have tons of new parts under the tree, have a safe and joyful Holiday's!

Good deal juice and casper.... and bene hopeful it will work...I have a feeling this is going to pretty awesome...We are going to try to get some T-shirts made up for the meet, got to check with a buddy of mine at Logozone and see how many have I would have to buy to keep the cost around 10 to 12 dollars each.
