that is where it was sonic tested. that is how you find out how thick the cylinder walls are. you can get a bad casting and have thin spots in the
cylinder walls. this block is excellent


Hey Merv. If you are building a 402, you may have to much piston to cylinder wall clearance after you hone the cylinders. your best bet is to use 4.005 piston and have the block honed to proper cylinder wall clearance.

I have a set of 4.005 Manley pistons.

I would hate to see you build this and have blow bye or piston slap.

I would hone the cylinders with torque plates.
