I'm new to this forum thing, but i've been reading up on yalls posts and i would like to be in yalls club. I wish i could go to the meet up at 3 tommorrow but i am leaving tommorrow morning for mississippi for the holidays. Anyways changing the subject i have an 02' SS Camaro i just purchased for $17,000 with 20k orig. miles garage kept by orig. owner, and i have already had a cam put in it and a 3" Magnaflow catback exhaust. My question is that since i put the cam in my car has not been able to hold an idle very long and dies every time i slow down to stop. but it drives fine. So the guys at Kittler's racing whom installed it said this might happen a few days, and if it persist to buy a new pcm or get a tune. I don't know where to get a tune around here, so i ordered a stage 2 pcm from jegs that will be in monday. I'm scared i'm going to mess it up if i keep driving it like this, and I don't know if the pcm will work. If it doesn't what should i do? Help please! Thanks.

You won't hurt anything by driving it like that. Mine was raced every weekend and driven everyday for 2 years (after the cam was installed) before I finally got it tuned and I never hurt anything. And unlike some guys, I actually drive/use mine the way it was designed to be used. It will just be a PIA to drive until you get it done.

Kittlers racing? That around here? Sounds familiar. How big is the cam? I am not to experienced in cams. But from what i understand, unless it is a really small cam, close to stock, you really need a tune. I cant even believe someone would install a cam and not have it tuned for you. And i dont think you need a new pcm. I am pretty sure you can use the stock one. But it needs to be programmed for that cam. And i think, you can mess up the car running it like that. It may be running to rich or to lean, NOT GOOD. I would park it if it was me. Maybe someone else here who has a little more experience with cams can chime in.

Like I said, you ain't gonna hurt it, it will just be a PIA without tuning. We have 6 LS cars and trucks and 3 of em have bigger cams and they've all lived without tuning for a while.

Twin city car club kind of rings a bell with me too. Sounds familiar. Yeah jeff, you might want to change the name or look it up just to be sure. Wouldnt want any legal issues on your hands. Lol. And we had a little meet up tonight. Kind of chilly tho. If everyone still meets up tomorrow I dont think I will be able to make it. I guess it just depends on what time everyone calls it a day. Me, jeff, bud, and ryan had a little cruise of our own. Wheres ryan at on here? Dude, your car is F**CKING SICK!! Nice ride for sure man.

Does anyone know who can install headers for a descent price around here? And when i get headers should I delete my emissions stuff and my cats? Or should i get some that only delete the rear O2 sensors and a y-pipe that will hook up to my stock cats. Or get hi-flow performance cats? Also does anyone know who can install things to strengthen your frame such as control arms, torque arms, sway bar, k-member? Sry but also is there a good Transmission shop that will install a torque converter thinking about a breakaway or steetfighter by TCI. And just one more thing does anyone know where i can get a 12-bolt rearend? Sorry for all the questions i am just trying to get my car ready to race. Thank you.
