3.42's. And there is a bolt sheared off the carrier. They have been through hell, i dont think you can install those gears in a 2 seriers carrier anyways. Go to the gear section and do a little reading on the stickies about 2 series and 3 series carriers. It is more involved than you might think...

It's a waste of time and $$ to tune with just headers. You won't pick up anything and it really doesn't need it anyway. I really can't point you to a tuner. I bought LS1EDIT and did our 2 cars. My uncle used Ed Wright and hasn't had any trouble. But don't waste your money on a tune until you get your cam installed

They have them at jegs,sumit.
I can turn you on to a good tuner when you get ready. But agree that you dont really need one until you cam it but this guy does unlimited tunes for one flat fee.I have had mine tuned like 4-5 times now..

taws6m6 ifhe doesnt reply to you tonight... i was reading in, umm, i think it was in that high performance ls1 book that we were discussing., or maybe it was on ls1 how to... i cant remember but it said if you put a mild cam into your car you will not necessarily need a tune anything bigger like average - aggressive you will deff. need a tune. i really think it was on ls1how to though. check it out.
if you want to we can do your car first and do mine after, so if we **** yo **** up we wont do it to mine. lol jp! ive installed to many cams at work i think i should be good. btw are you gonna pay a pro. to install yours? cause ive got allot of the tools to install mine!

i dont know, i have heard alot of different stuff bout installing cams on a high mileage motor. And when i do it, its gonna be borderline average, i am not gonna get the biggest one i can get. But i want to be happy with my choice reasonably large but still streetable. I will do a lot more research before i get ready, I dont want to have to rebuild my motor afterwards tho. If i have to replace all the internals to do it and be safe then thats what i will do.

same here.... i hear you on doing it the safest way. im also going to go with a average size cam, no to big but not to small either. i think i would be happy with that tr224. my friend with a goat has one in his and was talking about selling it to me nov. of last year for 150.00 so im thinking of that cam.

When ya'll do your cam it would be wise to get a better valve springs & pushrods. I would personally get new lifters ( that would mean pulling heads ). You don't have to do lifters, but with high mileage I would think about it. A high volume oil pump & new timing chain would be nice. Just my 2 cents

im doing it all except lifters. thats just me. i dont really believe mine need to be changed yet. but deff. new pr, valve spr., retainers, ls6 oil pump(high volume oil), and timing chain set(double roller)
