well got broad sided in the last place i ever thought i would get into an accident... was in the blue 01 hawk turning into my driveway pretty much at a dead stop since i dont turn into my driveway at 25mph. a WONDERFUL female citizen of el paso who was SPEEDING in a residential neighborhood leaving over 100ft of skid marks right up to the side of my car and shoving us about 3ft sideways, hit the passenger side quarter, wheel, and door slamming my girl into the door giving her a concussion and im pretty sure totalling our hawk at the same time. talk about multi tasking... she was speeding, following too close, and trying to pass on the right. rediculous! here is what it did to the car....

yea. she was leaned on the passenger door so her shoulder took some impact and her head hit the glass and gave her a mild concussion. other than that and the car being ruined everything is ok....

 

im glad to hear everything is okay man, sucks about the car but that kinda **** happens you. i guess you should be glad it wasnt the lt1

 

Damn man that sucks, I hate that happened but thank god she or you weren't seriously injured. I hate to see a clean hawk go to the scrap yard...I know this might be a little early but if the insurance company totals it out do you think you can keep the car and part it out?

 

if they total it im gonna try to buy it back. if i can ill send it to OK to my body guy and he will give me an estimate to fix it. he told me that from the video and pics i sent him that he thinks he can fix the quarter, cutout and replace the rocker, get a salvage ground effect and door, and repaint the whole car for 6k or less. if he can ill keep it, repair it, and later make it my drag car. just have to see... worst case, i buy it back, strip it, use the engine/tranny/wiring for my 66' chevy C10 that im the second owner of and do a resto/mod with modern LS1 reliability. only time will tell...

 

I had a similar stroke of bad luck this weekend, hit and run incident in Alabama. Smashed the front, bent the hood and fender. Broke the headlight. Scratched and put a small dent in the drivers door, and scratched and dented the rear quarter. Chipped one of the rims too. My brother the collision expert said its a good 5K worth of work. Insurance should be taking care of it but we'll see how that goes.

they are havng a car show at the National Infantry Museum, Saturday morning, if you want to enter your car it is $20, it is run by the SGM Association
