Grease, the cheapest lids seem to be around $90 bucks on up. $50 bucks and you can have it. The seal at the base of the lid is gone, which was cheap foam. The other thing is that were it necks down for the maf. The bottom peice is a seperate peice, I would epoxy the seem. For what it's worth my fast toys lid didn't even come with a seal at the base. For the slp maf, $70 bucks, that's $5 dollars cheaper than they sell for in the used section and you don't have to pay shipping. As for the duals, I would have to think about it for ahwile. I would suggest going with a mufflex. When I get back I will be doing their y-pipe and 4'' with the magnaflow. Your more than welcome to come check it out.

just a bit of warning, running open headers with your 02 sensors exposed, the car will fall on its face constantly and the engine will cut off because of it.

i drove my car from the skill center to the exhaust shop and it would run 2 ways, at idle and at WOT. beyond that car would sputter and die continuously.

oh, luke, by the way, there is alos 1993 firehawk #0002 with around 1500 miles on it there in the columbus area, and there was a red 99 hawk owned by a guy named Ian that works at the steak n shake over there by the main post office. there are a few around, but not very common to see. last i knew ian was trying to sell his so it may not be there anymore.

Grease, I hear good things about the tsp y-pipe. They are $129 and I wouldn't be surprised if they gave you a small discount due to being military. If all else fails find somewhere close that bends 3" and we can copy my new y-pipe before it goes on.

For some odd reason tsp still hasn't updated the picture. They use a merge collector like mufflex does. Craig didn't you say you had the spintech muffler still? I am thinking about going to 4" on the 97. Sent mufflex a email asking them if the make a y for kooks headers.

Karl, did mufflex say that their y-pipe will work with the kooks?

yeah, i actually was planning on getting the TSP Y-pipe....but i dunno....i've kinda of been thinking a doing duals...TSP's dual set-up is nice and only around $400... but i'd have to save up for something like that. I hope i don't have any problems like that with my headers. I've known a bunch of guys back home that ran open headers with no problems....hopefully i won't have any problems.

I ran open headers for like two weeks with no problems. But I heard that some people ran into issues while driving around like that.

Grease, if you decide to go duals do alittle thinking about your hangers for the rear of the pipes. Mine were mounted to the seatbelt bolts in the back seat. When pulling the carpet back to drill the holes for the bottle bracket. I found that the duals had started to tear the floorboard out.

the mufflex Y isnt made to bolt straight up to the kooks. im gonna have to do a bit of modding on it, but it should come out fairly close as it is. just have to see once i get under the car with it.
