2 years in the making.... it arrives. Thackers 98% Finished Camaro
Some of guys may remember what my poor car looked like the day it left Mustangs Unlimited back in September of 06.
The car , driven by a "friend" of mine hit a curb @ 85 + MPH racing a Mustang.
Sad isn't it?
From suspension was destroyed, front clip was messed up. Radiator was busted, hole in the oil pan, radiator housing was bent. Minor frame damage in the front. All 4 wheels + tires destroyed, cracked hood etc.
I lost all motivation in the car and the project, so it sat. And sat, and sat.
After buying my GTO... I decided I wanted to get back in the game and took the car down for sale, and decided to not part it out.
And here is the car as it went through the process of being redone.
The color I chose was VIPER RED, and JET BLACK for the hoodscoop and accents.
Yes I know the pictures suck, all taken with my ATT Tilt phone, I will get better pictures of the color later as this camera really sucked for capturing it.
And the car as it sits today.
It is still being buffed, and wet sanded and cleaned up.
I've got some black halo headlights, and black turn signals going on it as soon as they arrive. I've got a ton of other minor touches and problems to work out.

It's amazing what seeing the car wrecked will do for motivation. It killed mine.
However after buying my GTO... the bug hit again last year so I figured it was time to get it done.
I am doing it right this time, screw that "street car" status... I want a race car.

Glad you got it back up and going man. Paint looks great. Under 3k with stock suspension and AC? Shine some light on that for me. What do you plan to remove? Is that race weight or just the car weight?

It was 3130 dry, the night the car wrecked. Since then I have removed front and rear bumper supports, pulled the 45lbs of stereo and wiring, pulled the padding under the carpet, removed rear seatbelts, removed wiper fluid resovoir and 10 lbs of assorted other crap. I also have lighter front and rear tires / wheels now. I still have the side impact bars in the car so I might cut them out also for another 15 or so lbs. I can also remove the windshield wipers and motors for another 10.
My absolute AIM is 2950 before the cage, and 3010 after the roll rage. I can always pull my passenger seat and thats another 40 lbs so I might even be able to hit 2925 or so dry.
I'd like to see some 10's this season on motor, if I can get the suspension dialed in.
You can tell the car is LIGHT already.. I mean damn look how high it sits in the front and rear LOL.

Damn. Sounds good. I'm going to the GaFBA shootout tomorrow and can't wait to find out my race weight. I haven't done anything major though, just spare tire and jack, back seats and seat belts, washer fluid and the air pump. Aren't hardtop cars a tiny bit lighter than t-tops? Just trying to make up for my fat ***, haha.

LOL. There is a TON of stuff "missing" from this ride.

I fired it up and drove it around some last night, clutch feels 100x better after getting the old fluid out. My brakes still feel mushy so I am going to try and get those bled real good.
