I recently bought a 54000 mile 1994 Camaro F1 that I believe is the factory built show car mentioned by Brangeta. It has a plaque with "Camaro F-1 Convertible Specialty Vehicle Car No. 00001".

Did you receive any documentation from the previous owner regarding the history of this car? '94 is awfully early for an F1, but if it was a GM show car, then it could have been any year. They were notorious for upgrading older cars and making them into show cars. Ex: the 572 ZL1 is a '93 that they converted to look like a '98+.

It has been years since I have considered Camaros a hobby of mine, but here are a few other F1 tidbits...

GM used to own a red '95 or '96 F1 that was designed for the Camaro Heritage Tour. It was bright red with red roof, silver stripes, the F1 ground effects, a white windshield banner (don't know what it said), and normal salad shooter wheels. I'm not entirely sure it was even a Z28, as they called it a '96 Camaro RS F1 when they sold it. I'm not sure if it was a '95 or a '96... for some reason my files say '95.

Somebody named Bob Fehan was involved with the F1 stuff. I can't remember off the top of my head how he was involved.

There's a 1/20 scale "Camaro F-1" model kit made by a company called Lindberg.
