96 SS SLP camaro VIN 2GIFP32POT2160764
Most of the '96 SSes should have R7T, but some have WU8. If you want me to take a look at the VIN I'd be happy to. I'd like to see some pictures of the car for sure; I've been working on the '96-'97 SS page of my site for the past few months and could use some more pictures or low mileage, stock examples.

I like to know if anything else was done to this car from slp it feels real strong it goes real good feels like its got more than 310 h/p its 1919 SS SLP Camaro convertible withe on white all slp options 33 k all 100% original even the top I have slp sheet window sticker I feels like its got like 345 h/p I had 2002 ss and this car would leave it by 2 cars any info would be great thank you..has 4 slp stickers 2 on driver door 1 on passgenger door one under hood.
If the car is that much faster than an '02 LS1 SS then either the LS1 car wasn't running right, or your LT1 car isn't 100% stock/original, or perhaps your LS1 car was an automatic trans and the manual LT1 just "feels" faster.
Bottom line, no stock LT1 SS is going to be running down a stock LS1 SS by multiple car lengths unless something is wrong with the latter. Now, if you had an '97 LT4 SS, that would be a bit of a different conversation - those are pretty well matched against an LS1, so if the LS1 SS was an early automatic car it might have its hands full with an LT4 SS. But your '96 is certainly not a factory LT4 car.

The LT4 intakes were always painted red (with bare aluminum accents on top), enough so that you would be able to see it in that engine bay shot above (under the air filter). So someone would have had to have gone out of their way to remove the red paint and make it look like an LT1 intake. I guess a private owner might want to do that for "sleeper" reasons, but if it was dealer-installed I don't think they'd want to hide the evidence that it was an LT4 setup. But yeah, it's always possible that a previous private owner might have done something that's just been hidden.
