School me on the Trailblazer SS
I am wanting to get into a Trailblazer SS and I don't know to much about them. Besides I think they look good and move out decent for a SUV. I see some for sale ads and they say like Trailblazer SS with 1SS, or 3SS, what does that mean? Also, which version is quicker the AWD or RWD version? Any other info would be much appreciated, I want to go test drive one today and would like to go there knowing at least some stuff about them.
What would you pay for a 08 with 56k miles? The dealer says it has 3SS, their asking price is $24,400.
Thanks.

Well, 1SS, 2SS, and 3SS are the options packages. Obviously 3SS being the top of the line. A quick search will tell you the differences, but buying used, I'd ALWAYS get a fully loaded one. And personally, I'd go AWD.

I owned one for 3 years, loved it!! The build quality as with most GM's is not all that good, but the fun factor is Awesome, especially with the right mods.. Mine was and i think still is on the "fastest" list of tbss around the community. I had to get rid of mine after divorce, wished i still had it. Lots of mods to be done and available, i know most all of them and the best ones to do.. Unless you need the AWD for bad weather driving i would shy away from them, trust me on this one..lots of guys convert their Awd to 2wd for this reason.. If you are looking for some versatility and some major fun factor then definitely go for it.. Best thing i can suggest is to get a "good" built tranny for it and never look back, the stock trannys suck. even at moderate power levels, i went thru 4 of them before getting one done right, then all was good even at 600+hp to the wheels. Good luck and if u have any questions shoot me an email...pete
