Question Will Frc's Negate The Firehawk Heat Extractors?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The heat extractor ports are above the exhaust manifolds on eigther side of the engine bay. If I put FRC's on wont that trap a lot of the hot air that would normally rise out of those ports? I want to keep that feature, but if anyone thinks that it'll be the same I'd like to start project "engine dress-up" I have the SLP strut tower brace, will I be able to use any FRC? I heard that my brace wont fit any cover. Any advice?

The heat extractors don't really do anything. Just go outside and hold your hand over the vents while the motor is hot -- you won't feel anything.

if you ever find out anything about the Strut Tower Bar clearing the FRC's let me know if you will...I'm in the process of trying the same thing. I have FRC's and no STB.

most STB's clear FRCs...in fact I can't really think of any off the top of my head that iterfear. I know I have seen pics of the Hotchkis and BMR STB's with FRC's under em.

I think you posted the same question in another part of this forum. I have the frc's and the BMR xtreme STB.
I have no heat issues and everything works out fine.
Find your last post and you will see a recent pic of it.

I believe the extractors are only functional when the car is moving.

Actually,
After driving the car and letting it sit, you can feel the heat through the extractors.

Cool

I know for sure the extractors work. With the manual fan switch you can feel hot air escaping. I am going to buy a polisher and shine anything that will polish. I'll polish the valve covers and relocate the coils underneath the cowl, so FRCs wont be needed. I appreciate all the help though

An added benefit of the heat extractors is that they would allow additional venting of pressure under the hood. Less air pressure under a surface (like your car hood) than above it will help downforce without increasing drag.

Gotta love that $12 per year subscription to Circle Track

How much power would you think you'd lose if you put FRCs on with your Firehawk Hood?
If I were you I'd test it and run the car w/ and w/o FRCs. If you feel you lose something dont put it on and vice versa.

I wanted to know about potential power loss due to extra heat. That why I started the tread. I was hoping someone knew for sure.

If any minute loss occurs you'll never notice it. FRC's are a style thing only. If you pop your hood a lot and enjoy that action... go for it slap them babies on. If you're all go and no show... put the bucks toward a go fast part
