Why? you can order the stripes, you can buy all of the aftermarket equipment that they added to the stage 1s, plus a cam for less than what was originally charged. Yea you wont be badged as one, but youll still spec out as one plus some.

4) We all could have self-built for less? (not really) In 2002, to take a new SS and add what GMMG/BERGER did with fiskes wheels and all the goodies, it would cost about the same, but we chose to own something unique (with badges)

you could get an SS for under 30k and the GMMG were going for 35kish. For 5k you can get a lot of equipment and have money left over. Thats not including the oem equipment that could have been sold off for a little more money. But that is old information the real question was why you would want to do it essintially 3 years after the fact. The prices have changed, the engine tech has grown by leaps and bounds. We have common racers with 9 sec ls1s, Ls7s with 500hp, 400hp Cadilacs, 400hp HEMis, 450hp Cobras, There was none of that in '02. Why do I mention those last 3 because if those existed in '02 I'm sure we would be looking at more HP from the WU program which would have made all the aftermaket tuner level 1 pkgs obsolete
