What I think...

SS, WS6, Firehawk, etc have less mods which also keeps the value up. While I am not against modding (have a couple), when you change the look of the SS,WS6, firehawk drastically then its nothing more than a modded Z-28 IMO.

I'll keep my SS close to stock and low mileage. If I want to mod and have a heavily built performance LS1, I'll go buy an old Z-28 and cut it up.

Everyone has a SS here. Nothing stands out from the rest. Sucks too because I was one of the first LS1 owners around.

Only difference from the Z28 is RESALE VALUE
Sounds like someone is cranky about his LIMITED EDITION not being worth anything right now... I've been seeing Intimidator, Tom Henry and Berger cars on eBay selling only a couple thousand more than SS cars.

Don't get me wrong, I would love to have the SOM Tom Henry car that has been on eBay SEVERAL times - or the ONLY NBM Tom Henry that is for sale down the street here, but I plan on modding my car - which is 1 of 263 SOM SS M6 cars. I also have CME amongst most every SLP option.

If they left this section to the ULTRA RARE cars - there would be about 5 threads in here...

Why don't you just say this since it seems this is your point:

"I have an Intimidator. I'm better than you. My car is better than yours. I have more money and a better car, so you suck and your car sucks. And you mom wears combat boots."

Mods, feel free to delete this pathetic thread or lock it up or whatever.

What a pathetic waste of time.

This thread began as a challenge to draw-out truely Limited SS cars. Some have replyed - and to those I say 'Thank You'.

The most recent replys are from Children who need to grow up and get a life! They should not be allowed to post on this thread without a note from their Mothers!

Ladies and Gents. Please post your truely Limited SS cars.

Hope I am not included. I would love to know where the truely limited cars are - I am fasinated wth the ZL-1 cars and have a registry for SOM cars hoping to narrow dow build information on interior combinations since SLP can't seem to do it. I was just defending my SS's honor.

Just giving my 2 cents - your first post seemed a bit negative to the SS owners - you will definately get slack for that. The post should have just mentioned to models you were looking for... B4C, Berger, TH - etc...

Geez............you guys ! ! ! !

Did any of you even bother to notice that Craig owns a "regular old SS" just like some of you?

As he said:

This thread began as a challenge to draw-out truely Limited SS cars.
He isn't trying to put any of you down for owning just a regular SS since he owns one himself ! ! ! ! To those of you that replied in a negative fashion, I have to agree with Craig. GROW UP ! ! !

Many of us have worked and saved many years and done without other things in our lives that we would have liked to have to afford the cars we now own. As for myself, I am a small business owner who works anywhere from 50 to 75 hours per week so I certainly am not wealthy by any stretch of the imagination. Before I purchased my 2002 Phase II ZL1, I mulled it over for a month or so before I finally submitted an order. If I were in a better financial position, it would have been a Phase III instead of a Phase II ! ! !

My understanding of this thread was again to sort out the more "unique" SS Camaros from the rest. Now, let's get back to it ! ! ! !

Now you guys are making things a bit clearer. As an owner of a "plain" SS, I just don't see what's so special about it as you could get it from any Chevrolet dealer and just order it up.

You guys with GMMG cars and whatnot - those are the "Special" SS cars that need to be in this section.

I have one of 478 SS convertibles made in 1998. Only 281 were automatics. I'd say that's a limited production vehicle. Rather rare, if I do say so meself. Certainly not the boring, garden variety Z28, for sure!

BRAVO J. D. ! ! ! Couldn't have said it better myself.

I'am also a 'regular' guy just as J. D. is. I'am a licensed electrician by trade and get my hands dirty every day. I'am the 'wrench' on all of my vehicles and think nothing of it. I scrape and save for anything I want.

Unlike many others, I placed the down payment on my Intimidator months before Dale Sr. died. Why? Because I liked the car - simple as that! I really don't care what it may be worth now, nor in the future. I simply like the car! I'am quit sure that many on this forum have TONS more money in their modified cars then I ever thought about spending to purchase my Intimidator.

As J. D. said, "Now, let's get back to it"

Ok ok....I missed the point - especially when a couple of guys on here spent FOUR pages hacking on the SS posters. It wasn't until my little ole post that this came out:

Now that makes more sense.

But it doesn't match your first post:

Mayby I'm just being picky, but the way your very first post reads, NO MATTER WHAT every single SS is just an over-priced Z with BS SLP options. In other words, the way your first post reads there's no such thing as a really special one.

In 2001 they built 5773 Z06 Corvettes out of over 35,000 Corvettes.

In 2001 they built 6332 SS Camaros out of 29,000 total Camaros. Of those 5373 were Y2Y SLP second sticker cars wich makes these cars actually MORE rare than the Z06. About 12,600 Camaros in 2001 got the LS1 - so about half of the LS1 Camaros are SS and the other half are Z28s. Either way both are just about as "rare" as a 2001 Z06. 2001 Camaros in general are more rare than a 2001 Corvette. 2001 LS1 Camaros are MUCH more rare than the 2001 Corvette.

I now understand what you're looking for. I don't mean to be a dick again, but maybe next time you can be a little more specific up front instead of coming out on page four.

Oh, and getting back on point, Sorry, dude, I just have a plain ole 2001 SS.

That may be true, Todd, but the Z06 is much more different than a standard corvette as compared to an SS vs Z28. Nobody is going to argue that a standard corvette could beat a Z06 just as easily as the other way around.

Well, my 2001 Y2Y SS with those overpriced BS SLP options is more rare than a 2001 Z06 Vette - I know that much. But I guess that counts as knowing nothing about Corvettes. Didn't realize you had a monopoly on Google searches for all that secret Corvette and SS information. Besides, doesn't being more rare than a Z06 count for anything? (Don't bother answering - I really don't care - not even a little - what you think.)

According to you, it isn't - it just has those overpriced BS SLP add ons. In fact, according to you there is no such thing, since they all are just overpriced Z28s with wings and hoods and overpriced BS SLP options.

Oh, that's right - I remember posting something about this before:

Looks like I was right on target with that. So sorry - I didn't realize you are THE BIG DOG. I'll wet my pants in submission in a minute.

Ok, I'm going to go **** myself in submission. I won't come back in this thread here until I bring a note from my mom. It'll probably be a while - she spends a lot of time polishing those combat boots.

Well Todd, it was evident from the beginning of this thread (PAGE 1) what it was about. I don't think that too many others questioned the subject of the thread.

I too believe your response was immature and you probably should refrain from posting in this thread if that is the attitude you are going to take. It is apparent that you feel you have to insult others as demostrated above in your various posts and use some type of profanity in commucating with others. Maybe you are right on this one occasion, maybe the moderators should "lock" this thread. But by the way, you were one of the major contributors to what you call "the SS hatefest".

You DID make an attempt at mending the fences and you should have left it at that (IMO).

Yeah, no ****! Then again the Z06 being un-arguably faster than the standard corvette doesn't really prove anything. They are talking build numbers, which is entirely different than the performance of the vehicles. I didn't think much before I posted that.

I doubt that is what he talking about with the SS he has being more of a rare commodity than a Z06 of the same year. Nothing to do with how much faster the Z06 is than the regular C5 of that year.

"In 2001 they built 5773 Z06 Corvettes out of over 35,000 Corvettes.

In 2001 they built 6332 SS Camaros out of 29,000 total Camaros. Of those 5373 were Y2Y SLP second sticker cars wich makes these cars actually MORE rare than the Z06. -- direct quote, please look above in there is any doubt. And this isn't to start any controversy, just clarifying what he was trying to make his point directed towards, there was no indication of an argument of speed, just rarity.
