It was issued new to the Trooper that drives it now and he says that the Z/28 on the tail was on it when he got it. I'm thinking that it was put on by mistake at the factory because all of NC's Camaros are B4C's by specs. I am not sure if I want to leave it on there or remove it.

A Z28 is no different than a V8 camaro. The codes Gm used changed I guess because my LT1's have Z28 and B4C might be different for LS1 as GM might have used different code specs.

My '97 B4C is an LT1 with a 3.23's and a steel driveshaft. Was there a code on 98+ for the Alum Driveshaft? I'd never heard of that. I thought all 98+ F-bodies had the Alum Driveshaft.

There is one for 9C1 caprice's, but none for the B4C that I can locate. If you find one, post it for us.

Default z-28 (body) w/ SS engine

My 02, former CHP has a stripped down z-28 body with an SS engine incuding the ls6 manifold, and aluminum heads. The CHP bought 70 ALL white camaros in 2002. They also bought 20 black and white ones for show. As far as performance, we have everything as SS has and more. Mine pushes 345 horse and 370 torque. No extra weight b/c no t-tops, and other extras. What we are missing is the SS hood and wing nd leather. At this point, I only need the hood. Woo hoo.

Sorry to burst your bubble but there is no difference between the Z28 motor and the one in the SS; except the air box and exhaust. The all have aluminum heads and the LS6 intake (01-02 cars).

The CHP cars have 12 holes bored into the front bumper just inboard of each foglight. I don't know if they came that way or not but the all have them. I haven't seen them on any other police Camaros.

The holes are there because they mount the sirens behind them and drill holes so they can be heard. They're not factory that way. The place the outfits the cars with police equipment does it.
