I thought the Salad Shooters were the 93-96 wheels on Camaros.

I can certainly understand... I have the purple cars because they're rare, and I get mixed remarks about them, too. Some people love them, some people hate them. It's all about what you like, though.

That's okay. I get enough of a hard time about having two purple F-bodies, I don't need to add to that.

Although... being the collector that I am, I would most certainly consider buying them... but I would buy them, seal them up, and stash them away somewhere for about 15-20 years and then sell them.

Yeah, I know.. it's kinda weird. Kinda baffles me how the car is somehow different based on what color it is. I've gotten flamed over the color of my car so many times I've lost count. Personally, I think its a really sharp color.... but not everyone agrees apparently. I just like having something unusual you don't see every day.

Wether a 3 spoke,5spoke,purple,TA or Formula, its TOUGH to make a bird look bad...

I wouldn't have ordered the swirlies myself but,if my car came with them stock,I would definately keep them...If I would chang'em out,I would stash them away...

Default Salad Shooter Wheels For Ws6 Cars

Ok people here are the facts. The salad shooters were only made in 2000 as an option for the WS6 cars, they are very rare due to the fact they only made around 200 sets, The reason they stopped production is because they are directional wheels, if you look at the driverside wheels they flow the same way as the passenger side wheels, hence the reason they stopped production. Pretty much they are backwards in direction on the drivers side.. "THEY FORGOT TO MAKE REVERSE DIRECTION WHEELS FOR THE DRIVERSIDE." Now you have the story and i still like them for the fact that they are rare..

That's very interesting! I hate to admit it, but I never noticed it. I just went out and took a closer look and sure enough... you're right. One side rotates forward and the other rotates backward. My car's wheels must be mounted differently than the black WS6 in the pic on the first page of this thread. My passenger wheels look as though they're twisting correctly in relation to the car moving forward and my driverside is rotating backward.

Just when you think you know everything...

Umm...It's not because of the directional thing they stopped making them. LOTS of directional factory wheels are only made for one side. They are opposite on the other side. Ever look at Camaro salad shooters? How about any of the Grand Am/Grand Prix directional wheels? That's just the GM stuff I can think of off the top of my head. Even most aftermarket wheel makers don't make right and left side directional wheels unless you spend big bucks for high end billet ones.

I would have to agree. They probably stopped making them because it was one of those deals where it was cheaper not to use them.

Could be problems with the wheel supplier, costs, durability. Who knows. I still like em though.
