Default ws6 formula rare?

I have a white 2000 firebird formula ws6. It has a hard top and is an m6. Does anybody know the number of these cars made?
The reason i ask is because i have never seen any type of formula ws6 and just got curious.

Also, does the color, hardtop or transmission make it more rare?

I don't know about 2000 but here is the breakdown for 2002 models:

I do know there are fewer Firehawk Formulas than TA's

That can't be right, I highly doubt more v8's were produced. What is your source for this info?

Formula WS6 cars are rare. I do believe that 2000 was the last year of the Formula WS6. In '99 there were 1602 total Formulas built. 174 of them were WS6s. I remember reading this in a book from Barnes and Noble the other day. "Firebird" was the title of the book. This is just to give you an idea.

Someone correct me If I am wrong.

i had a 1990 ws6 formula, only 1,087 made, but they do exist. ws6 formulas have been around a lot longer that that...

I say, who cares if it's rare, most f-body's (4th gen's)are not worth anything.

Yet.

When they do become worth something, I'll be glad I got the rare ones when they weren't worth anything.

BTW.. they only made 221 Formula WS6s in 1998, 14 of them with the 1LE package. So yes, they are pretty rare.

My neighbors see purple LS1 Firebirds driving up and down the street all the time, I suppose they think they're pretty common, too. I mean, I have two, how rare can they be?

Does a color of a car really make it rare? Will a collector buy it because there are 12 made & pay top dollar for it? Is there anything else different about the car except the color from other "Normal Production" F-Bodies(drivetrain, Special Features)? I am not familiar with the purple F-Bodies, Were they only built in 98? I am not trying to be an azz, But I see millions of posts on here of cars being rare, What constitutes rare? I guess I am partial to my car, & will say the Anniversary cars are worth more than the run of the mill production cars, And my car aint worth ****..maybe if I had 5 miles on it & put it away, didn't enjoy it, take it out in 30 years, think I could I get 100g's for it?

I wouldn't necessarily call them rare. I don't know the exact production numbers, but if they made an average of 200 a year from 98-00, thats 600 cars out there on the road. While it wouldn't necessarily be a common car to see, I wouldn't go so far as to call it rare. A 1997 LT4 Firehawk- that's a rare car.

2002 GM Pontiac Firebird Build Counts - Build at St. Therese Assembly
A total of 30,690 Firebirds were built for worldwide distribution

WS6 RAM AIR COUPES 12,212 UNITS (16.9% OF PRODUCTION)

FIREHAWK COUPE WITH 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANS (color code)

10U 60 units
11U 54 units
13U 84 units
28U 127 units
41U 348 units
71U 60 units
81U 150 units

Exclusive of Hurst short shift, CD changer option and the various SLP options available.

I would agree with the above statement w/exception to Firehawks where only 1505 were produced in 2005 (total between T/A coupes/verts, and Forumula coupes/verts)

Yes, the market is soft for any LS1 regardless of model, but some of these will appreciate in the long-term, especially with SLP documentation and verification of authenticity

Just my 2 cents

Let's not forget the few Comp T/A's that were produced in small numbers.

I agree, That's why i am wondering if color alone(Purple) would make a car rare or "collectible"? Firehawks, anniversary cars, Comp T/A's, Hurst T/A, X-men will fetch some money down the road, maybe
