looked for a yr and a half which gave me time to start saving then one day i found my pride and joy right here on tech 01 SOM with almost full bolt on's (needs a set of heads) with 28000 miles for $16000

i was really picky. i didnt want a car that had the hell beat out of it. it took me 5 months. i finally found it when i wasnt even looking. i had a flat tire and i noticed it while i was getting thhe donut out of the back of my old firebird.

You could say it took me about an hour. I had been thinking of getting a "toy" for awhile. I was not sure what I wanted though. I was thinking about getting a 350Z so I stopped by the Nissan dealer one Saturday. I got in one and realized the interior was just too small for me. I then decided to swing by the Chevrolet dealer just down the road and there was my SS. I bought it that day and have not looked back.
to find mine, it took 1 day. I was lookign online seeing every option i wanted then in august of 2001, I went to the local dealer, told them i wanted a leftover 2001 SS. I gave all the RPO codes i wanted(options like ttops, pewter color, ebony interior, hurst short throw, traction control etc) and they searched in their computer and 12 matches came up on the east coast. 9 of those had the 12 disc changer i didnt want so we were down to 3. 1 had cloth so that was off my list and then 2 remained. we caleld about the first, it had just sold, so i took the last one available. It was brought in to NJ from out in PA somewhere. and thats how i got my SS

About 3 year's I knew just what I wanted and was willing to wait and find it. After looking all this time the car kinda found me. A guy that work's for GM bought it new it was alway's in the garage and did not come out in bad weather, he and his wife traded it in on anew colorado because they did not want there daughter that was turning 16 to be behind the wheel of the SS. I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time!

I looked for 4 years, 9 months and change. There were a couple of times I came close, but things weren't right. Usually I declined due to the interior or exterior color. Looking back there might have been a few that were the right color/options but the time frame for getting financing lined out was wrong (ebay, etc)

I ordered mine in August or Sept. of '99, but it didn't arrive until May of 2000. Worst part was I sold my car 4 weeks in because my *(#&%@(*&%*@# dealer told me the car was a week out. That guy sux. Well worth the wait though.
I actually went in to test drive another WS6 (an auto) that had arrived in March during my wait. A dealer rode along with me and my best friend. We pulled up to a light on a 4 lane divided and along comes a LOUD Nova from the 70's. The dealer with us (different from the one I ordered through) just looks over at me and says "Take him."
We did, I didn't mind the wait after that.

I was actually in the market for a convt. Cobra and found my car at a dealership that my buddy worked at. He gave it to me real cheap. I haven't turned back and am so glad of my decision.
It took me well over a year to find the exact car I wanted (color, condition, milage, price, etc). I live in NY and was looking online at cars as far away as texas and florida. Turns out my dream car was about 10 minutes away from me in a neighboring town the entire time. Life's funny like that sometimes. You look and look, and get frustrated. Then when you finally DO find the car you want it's kinda like the car found you. Check out my cardomain page for more details about my search process (1st paragraph) and my car.
I found mine on accident. I wasn't even thinking about buying it the first time I seen it. I was looking to buy a truck but it had to many problems with it so he wouldnt sell it to me. So I thought about it for a day and went and bought it.

I just drove a 6 spd WS6 all the options i wanted but it was beat the hell outta, dings, 126,000 miles and the lowest they would go was 7500$. I want one way bad now. I'm gunna save up over the winter and hopefully purchase my baby in spring.
