Z06s are great cars but be prepared to see yourself coming and going. The only GMMG car I've seen on the road is mine and I doubt I'll ever see another or a Dick Harrell either unless it's at an F-bob get together.
Unless somebody has a better idea I'm taking my GMMG ZL1 back to original and taking the standing offer. Might put the 427 in the Dick Harrell before Mike and Ron install the GMMG LS6 engine. Save a little labor.

If we could see into the future we might be putting away a Yugo.
And who says the next cycle will be 20+ years? Also, the big bucks the resto-mods are bringing is surprising to everyone and GMMG cars are basically newer resto-mods. There are potential gold mines everywhere. The trick is guessing right and finding a way to hang onto it.

And off-topic, but I really need to come by your museum thing you've got. I drool every time I go to "your garage". Not too far from my house. Well, that is definitely not too far away to come check out those beauties!

The point is, the ZL-1 is not for everyone, but it certainly is a cool car and worthy of it's place in history. Enthusisast are not the kind of people who usually buy a car like a ZL-1 or a Dick Harrell car, just the same as an enthusiast usually will not put a project car back to 100% concourse condition...they will build the car to be driven and the same goes for the new ZL-1.

The real irony is that NOBODY who bought a new car during that era EVER left them stock for long. Everything from headers to shifters to wheels to even steering wheels (corvette) were changed and if not in the first few years of ownership certainly later down the road. Those concourse restored cars saw few days on the street in that pristine OE form because the owners were just like we are today; we can't wait to let the mods begin!

Far be it from me to dispute the word of some one from the home of Buford T. Pusser, but.....
I once knew a guy that tried to drive from Buford to Marietta.
Two days late he turned up.................dead.
